(Future work on the Anthropometric
Models of Children)
- the populations from whom the anthropometric data was gathered, were
not disabled
The populations of children who participated in the original
anthropometric study exhibited natural patterns of development and growth,
whereas the physical development of children with disabilities is often
effected by their particular disability as well as the treatment and therapy
which they receive. This is an area we are focusing our future research
on.
- gathering anthropometric data and establishing boundaries of the
population instead of percentiles of the population
Currently the majority of this
work is supported by a grant from the NSF.
The Nemours Foundation provides
the laboratory space and NIDRR
provides additional funding which helps this project to exist (computer
system/network, research resources, etc).
