Design and evaluation of assistive devices for people with Disabilities:
Designing assistive equipment for people with disabilities
is often a difficult process due to the wide range of abilities and physical
properties that each individual possesses. A custom device is required
in many cases, however customization is usually a difficult task that drives
up the cost and the required time for manufacturing. The role of rapid
and virtual prototyping, mixed with the input of the consumer, will allow
for a one -of-a-kind device to be manufactured to the specifications of
a consumer at a fast pace with substantially less cost.
