For this workshop, we went through resumes and critiqued and provided advice for students that submitted them ahead of time. Additionally, we looked at other resumes for examples of good and back practices along with different formatting and topics that can be brought up in them.
ZBRUSH WORKSHOP

The Zbrush workshop introduced new students to the interface of ZBrush.
The first half of the workshop was a mini-lecture to discuss the tools available to sculpt digitally.
The other half was spent on creating individual models.
FALL FESTIVAL

The Fall Festival was an engineering-wide event in collaboration with Penn CSS, HKN, and SWE. Members of the four clubs were there to give advance registration advice to students who had any last minute questions before the deadline. Fall themed snacks and activities, including apple cider and cookie decorating, were provided as a fun study break.
WEBSITE WORKSHOP

This workshop went over the basics of web design and development, from the most efficient frameworks to how to publish the website. Attendees learned about different ways to integrate html, css, and javascript to achieve various designs, and how to utilize Bootstrap, one of the most popular website frameworks, to expedite the development process.
HOUDINI WORKSHOP

The Houdini workshop was an opportunity for students to learn the basics of Houdini. Students learned modeling and animation techniques to become familiar with Houdini’s interface and tools. They then continued to particle simulations, where they built fountains and fireworks.
HALLOWEEN POTLUCK

This event is for the annual Halloween celebration at SIG lab. This time SIGGRAPH hosted. The event was a great success. Thank you for those of you who dressed up and participated in the activities. We got to pick out the best Halloween costumes and the best decorated pumpkins! Congratulations to Adam Mally, Alexis Ward, Allison Kim and Sharon Dong.
STUDENT PANEL NIGHT

The Student Panel consisted of a collection of CG@Penn students, grad and undergrad, who each had different experiences in their journey through Computer Graphics. The panel discussed internship opportunities for undergrads, finding the right companies, balancing classes at Penn, and various career options that students can pursue after DMD and CGGT.
DEMO REEL NIGHT

Students submitted links to their demo reels ahead of time to be critiqued. During the critique we had recent alumni video in to provide live feedback and give a chance for the students to ask questions and/or advice. Additionally, older alumni provided more feedback afterwards that was compiled by our board and sent directly to the students. We also went through good demo reel practices and, as always, showed off the infamous
2011 Dono Reel.

MAYA WORKSHOP

The Maya Event was a workshop based tutorial where board members taught and guided students through the AutoDesk Maya software. The students who attended learned the fundamental tools of the program and were able to create a complete canoe by the end of the event.

BEGINNERS'S SHADERTOY WORKSHOP

The Shader-Toy workshop introduced new students to the core ideas behind computer graphics and the computer graphics pipeline. The first half of the workshop was a mini-lecture to discuss the rendering pipeline from code to screen, whilst the second was spent looking at randomness, noise functions, renderers, and Shader-Toy as a platform to test them.
