Introduction
The Godin Tepe site has deteriorated
markedly since its excavation in 1973. The virtual reconstruction
is an attempt to "digitize" the architecture and other
features of this ancient city. Virtual
Reconstruction
Virtual reconstruction, or the 3D
modeling of the entire site, began in March of 2004. Guided by Virginia
Badler, the team of Digital Media Design students built the terrain,
architecture, and pottery. In addition, human figures were added
to demonstrate how the site could have been used--for the distribution
of slingballs. 3D modeling and camera animation were done in Alias
Maya. Post production was done with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,
Premiere, and After Effects.
