Hey! My name's Dan. I really enjoy cartooning and art, and run my own webcomic, Glass Half Empty, at http://www.defectivity.com. I love movies (I'm a big Mel Brooks and Coen Brothers fan), my current favorite TV shows are Lost and The Office, I'm a huge fan of Seinfeld and The Simpsons and Curb Your Enthusiasm, I miss Arrested Development, I read The Onion, I like playing video games, my favorite color is blue, my favorite printed comic strip is The Far Side, my favorite webcomic is The Perry Bible Fellowship (which is not related to the Bible, a Fellowship of some sort, or anyone named Perry), I like pasta, I know how to whistle, my favorite animals are platypuses and penguins, I doubt anyone is actually reading this so it doesn't really matter what I write here, whenever someone asks me to pick a number between 1 and 10 I'll probably pick 2, I really enjoy watching so-bad-they're-good movies, I spend too much time cleaning and organizing things, when I was a kid I was briefly on the Nickelodeon game show Double Dare, I'm terrified of marionettes and clowns and puppets... etc!
Since I was a little kid I've always loved animated movies and video games. I spent my early years filling notebooks with drawings and diagrams of characters and levels from imaginary games, including Mudman, a superhero whose amazing power was the ability to... erm... do things with mud, I guess. Since then, I've taken a bunch of 3D animation courses with Maya and 3D Studio Max, and have made a handful of little animations such as "Robot Vs. Skateboard" and "The Brief Adventures of Captain Pessimist." I've also taken computer programming classes, and in 8th grade made a shoot-em-up called "The Invasion of the Evil Generic Aliens" in C++, where the player takes on the role of "Mr. Humanity's Last Hope For Survival, For Some Reason," to defend the Earth from intergalactic attackers who are kidnapping cows to use them as explosive "Bovine Bombs". Besides that, I love making comic strips by hand, use Photoshop to make comics for my website, and would love to do some work in concept art or storyboards... Um... That's about it, I think!
